Based on the 1998 bestselling novel by Wally Lamb, adapted and directed by Derek Cianfrance, I Know This Much Is True is a six-part limited drama series starring Mark Ruffalo as identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in a family saga that follows their parallel lives in an epic story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness, set against the backdrop of 20th-century America. The series shows Dominick and Thomas at different stages in their lives, beginning in their present with both brothers approaching middle-age, filled in with Dominick's flashbacks to their young adulthood. English An epic six episode long epos about a cursed family, family stigmata and about lives which you would not be able to come up with just like that, not even after someone would put salt into your bleeding wounds. I’m not surprised that the book on which this series is based upon is a bestseller because if anyone really went through this in their life, they must be at least a saint in their next ones. And when someone takes such a tragedy into his hands and with his typical quality and respect makes it into a series, there is no other way for me to rate it than with full rating. Moreover Mark Ruffallo portrays his double-role perfectly. As well as those boys who portray the same brothers in their youth. Well, let me tell you premises such as this don’t grow on tree. Considering family dramas, I Know This Much Is True is the best I’ve ever seen. Another great HBO production. ()
