Timetable of the Heart

Behind a wine-red velvet curtain in the window of a small tin booth at Nevsky Prospekt, Ira sits and checks that the city’s trolleybuses are on time. Her work is a remnant of the communist system where everyone should have a job. From her street corner, she gets time to reflect on the city, the people and her own life. She has understood how quickly life can change and with that insight, she sees everyday life in a different light. With a beautiful photo and a floating sound design, the director Lisa Partby’s tender portrait of Ira is a fragment of a life and a city in change. (Tempo Documentary Festival)
