The Border

Amid a political crisis, on the border between Colombia and Venezuela, an Andean woman, her husband, and brother live on looting travellers. However fate pushes her to the brink of illusion and getting lost in mysterious surreal dreams. Through committing to time, space and subject, the director delivered a story that takes place in a forgotten spot, almost close to prophecies with some of it trying to investigate the mysterious destinies of people so marginalised they live on the border between two nations suffering from political, social, and cultural tensions. The film follows stories that lack a clear beginning or a direct ending. This takes place without any melodramatic musical intervention leaving the audience to interact with the characters surrounding environment. (Cairo International Film Festival)
