Adam McAdam is a quarrelsome Scottish drunkard who settles in Cumberland. There he instigates the rivalry between his sheepdog Black Wull and Owd Bob, the dog of a rival farmer, David. David also falls for Adam’s daughter, Jennie. As the sheepdog trials approach, the rivalry intensifies with each dog representing the pride of each farmer. (Park Circus)
