A Year in Port follows several notable Port houses through a year of production. The film is particularly focused on the culture of Port and the ancient institutions wrapped up in a blend of British and Portuguese traditions – weekly lunches for English Port families, games of cricket, and an annual race of the traditional Rabelo boats on the Douro between the major houses. Port delves further into the traditions surrounding wine than the previous two films, but when seen as the third in a trilogy, it plays like a natural progression in the story.
