Plots(1)
Under the streets of London is a strange world inhabited by monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. Richard, a quiet London businessman, is pitchforked into this world when he rescues a young girl he finds bleeding on a pavement. Neverwhere is a dark and thrilling mixture of metaphor, history, humour and high adventure. (BBC)

I don't know what it is, perhaps it's the darker side that pervades the entire film, which doesn't really create a horror environment, although you would think it would, but I like the original book version better than this TV version. It's not bad, but in my opinion the magic of the story hasn't been adapted very well. ()
