Close to Silence

Krajobraz przed cisza gives a subdued impression of the hamlet of Suchodoly in the Polish lake district Muzarian. Or better: the film shows what is left of it. A stork keeps watch on a ramshackle roof. Bees are flying undisturbed across empty rooms without someone chasing them away. There is a rusty pan on the stove and in the washing room some forgotten pegs are on the clothes line. Ghost town Suchodoly. In the nineteenth century the first people settled here.
