In Céline’s school, there are 550 boys and 16 girls. Seventeen years old Céline, is taking a technical course; she loves the smell of paint, likes working with her hands and is poor at math and other theoretical subjects. Being the only girl in a class full of adolescent boys, she is frequently teased, but she can handle it. Céline has a best friend at school called Raja, and she does not lack admirers either, although her classmates tell her she looks too boyish. Céline lives in an apartment in a suburb of Paris with her parents and two sisters. The house is small, but she actually thinks it is rather cosy. Ma Céline à moi is a fresh and high-spirited portrait of a quite ordinary girl, who may belong to the lower class of society, but is not at all affected by it.
