Descent

A slow inhale and exhale. The water in Iceland is crystal clear and has a temperature of about two degrees. A woman in a swimsuit sits on an ice floe as she puts on fins, diving goggles and a snorkel. Kiki is a professional diver, who pushes the limits of her endurance beyond the boundaries of human comprehension. Her physical condition results from many years of gradual training, which taught her to like herself and her body. The film uses imposing shots to explore to the depths of the human core set against a backdrop of the world lying hidden beneath the water’s surface. (One World)
