Plots(1)

Clear the runway for Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), VH1’s three-time male model of the year. His face falls when hippie-chic Hansel (Owen Wilson) scooters in to steal this year’s award. The evil fashion guru Mugatu (Will Ferrell) seizes the opportunity to turn Derek into a killing machine. It’s a well-designed conspiracy and only with the help of Hansel and a few well-chosen accessories like Matilda (Christine Taylor) can Derek make the world safe for male models everywhere. English That's how you find out one day that you don't have a review for Zoolander, even though you love that movie about a totally dumb good guy (who controls so many different perspectives) so much. A very funny and very clever comedy that has no problem switching between crackling humor and moments that I'm not afraid to call poignant and yet still funny, well cast and not giving a damn. ()

English On most works of the legendary Frat Pack, I can find a surprisingly large number of mistakes, but this is a bomb. Insane, at times incomprehensible, but full of absurd humor and immensely funny and striving for the highest rating for me. Zoolander has exactly the swagger and the right way of uncontrollability and unclassifiability that I can adore even at an age when I am no longer the target audience. ()

English Jesus Christ. Well I honestly expected it to be more of a romp, but there were some great jokes. Actually, I wasn't so much amused by Ben Stiller as I was by Owen Wilson's perfect creation. I might have had a little more fun if I had known that Milla Jovovich played Katinka (and I kept wondering if she was really hot or horrible) and Will Ferrell played Mugatu. I found the humor of the film more or less quite similar to Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and the latter was crammed with jokes, about a third of which I laughed at, but I laughed hard, and that’s the main thing. English This comedy just entertains me. It's so silly that it's great. It is played for stupidity, but at the same time, it is an excellent critique of what is actually important in our society. There are absolutely fantastic characters here that will stick in your memory, also because their actors were willing to give everything to their performances and were not afraid. ()

English Ingeniously dumb and dumbly ingenious - a total parody of a lifestyle, life and everything. Indescribable absurdity multiplied by infinity, which goes all the way ad absurdum. For Christ’s sake, I so want to a man who looks not just good, but really good, like a male model, and I wish I could manage at least Zoolander’s Magnum. I’m not setting my sights on Blue Steel quite yet, but the day will come... Lucky I have this on CD and so can have countless repeat viewings to get Derek’s prize expression down to a T. ()
