Buksi, who makes a living by smuggling and dealing with automatic watches, is just trying to escape from the police when he bumps into Péter, a free-lance intellectual obsessed with the idea of the perfect, traceless crime. Péter succumbs to Buksi's persuasion: he develops and performs his schemes with Buksi's friends, who may not know him. The police are helpless, and they set up a special team equipped with computers. With the help of the computers and the calculus of probabilities they almost manage to arrest Peter, when Létra, who, as well as Buksi, in the meantime got into a panic, stabs him in the crowded street.
