English The East German film Der Traum des Hauptmann Loy is interesting because, among other things, while filming it Jana Brejchová met Ulrich Thein, her second husband. Another interesting thing is that after May Stars, which was Brejchová's first co-production, this is her first purely foreign film. In this film Brejchová is a naive femme fatale in a pseudo-spy thriller from the westernmost end of the Eastern Bloc that - though set most of the time on board an airplane - remained quite rigid. It's truly ridiculous to watch a 20-year-old Brejchová trying to be a spy in a weird costume, with a black mikado and an undisguised interest in an airport jukebox. Fortunately, she later met Kurt Hoffmann in West Germany and at least he was able to get her to do some interesting acting. ()
