Katy Perry - Ur So Gay (2007) (music video)

English So, this is the famous breakthrough of the original Christian singer? Most importantly, Madonna praised it and the video was shot with fashion dolls. And these weren't any Barbies from Mattel, but Fashion Royalty Erin, Ayumi, and Francisco from Integrity Toys. No wonder IT later also released Katy's doll.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)

English Ghostbusters 5 pleasantly build on Afterlife. In the meantime, the Spengler's have become full-fledged ghostbusters and continue in the New York tradition. The kids have grown up, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson got a little more space and work alongside the new generation. A straightforward, uncomplicated, and relaxed continuation.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)

English Ghostbusters 4 unfortunately fell victim to covid and even after several years, the film's existence has gone largely unnoticed by those who obsessed over the original films. Which is a shame. Ghostbusters 3 had an advantage in terms of advertising thanks to the all-female team. The new generation revolves around the fact that Harold Ramis passed away, so the story mainly follows the Spengler family. The concept itself is very enjoyable, as the Spenglers have lived outside the realm of ghostbusters and with the exploration of their grandfather's legacy, memories of the adventures in the eighties can be refreshed for the audience. The forefront features the teenagers and their new buddies from the countryside. Everything fits together perfectly and eventually, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson make an appearance, so everything is exactly as it should be. It's a return to a classic family show that has been missing for a long time.

Pasáž (1996)

English "Passage" by Karel Pecka is considered one of the classic texts from 68 Publishers, where it was first published in 1974. In Juraj Herz's film adaptation, it became a metaphor for the mid-nineties and immortalized the then appearance of the Lucerna club. Some of the ideas are great, others are dadaistic, and some are controversial, yet the whole brings an unexpected experience. Everything is here that I expect from Czech nineties, including the spicy Martina Adamcova.

The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1988) (series)

English This is one of those legendary Disney TV series from the 80s. Disney started focusing on Winnie the Pooh as early as 1977 in the movie The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but because kids from the nineties mostly only knew the TV production, it was hard to explain to them that old Disney canon. That's why some are still disappointed today when they remember the completely different poetics of Alan Alexander Milne's stories. As far as I remember, there was no disappointment at home, and I remember the series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh with love and I continuously supplement the whole phenomenon. Even if I leave out the puppets and 3D animation, there are still endless things to watch.

Kronprinz Rudolfs letzte Liebe (1956)

English One of the many films about the Mayerling affair. And one of the best, because although it's again a family drama from the life of Sissi, it's nowhere near as sweet as the trilogy with Romy Schneider. The German-speaking space knew how to remember the crown prince as a human tragedy, it wasn't necessary to tell a novel for maids each time. Besides the pensive Rudolf played by Prack, there's the excellent Lil Dagover, who reprised her Sissi role years after Elisabeth von Österreich.

Adventures in Lalaloopsy Land: The Search for Pillow (2012)

English An act of kindness. Lalaloopsy are one of many toy lines produced by MGA, promoted by the eponymous series and films. The concept is based on the most classic rag dolls with button eyes, transformed in reality into plastic beauties. The Search for Pillow is their first film. The main heroine is Pillow Featherbed, sister of Blanket Featherbed from the pajama series. Absolutely ideal for preschoolers.

Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World (1998)

English In the Disney television studio, it was decided that Beauty and the Beast would be exploited to the max. The Christmas special The Enchanted Christmas is definitely not enough, so it is necessary to insert additional chapters into the original story. This time, the new direct-to-video "film" is composed of 4 stories of various quality. I stopped looking for logic long ago, and this time I am terrified by the realization that the story Mrs. Potts' Party was inserted into this miracle retroactively. Originally, it was part of the 4th sequel, Belle's Tales of Friendship. If it was about loose sequels about the life of Belle and the prince after their wedding, I won't even say a word. I could even imagine a situation where the prince will not do a good deed and will again be threatened with transformation back, and Belle will have to try to reverse fate again (that could easily be the plot for a whole movie), I would definitely survive the individual stories of the transformed castle inhabitants, or the adventures from the lives of the common children of Belle and the prince (Disney can also do such sequels). But constantly expanding that time when Belle was a prisoner in the castle and inserting cute micro-stories into that drama is too much for me.

Dům na samotě (2022) (TV movie)

English This TV transcript of the bestselling detective story by Michaela Klevisová is... weak. Unexpectedly. It's cringe-worthy, slow, illogical, and uninteresting. The individual characters seem to be from five different movies, and they have no chemistry. The humorous storyline at the end seems to suggest that we should expect a series with Luboš Veselý and Veronika Arichteva, but that really shouldn't be necessary.

Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997)

English n the 1990s, the Disney Renaissance era was marked by the successful continuation of Aladdin (1992) - The Return of Jafar (1994), which led to the opening of a Canadian Disney studio focused on direct-to-video films. One of such films was a Christmas special inserted as a flashback into Beauty and the Beast (1991). The original fairy tale is unlucky in a way that its brand is the status quo before the transformation of the beast into a prince, so the only way to write a sequel was to create a supposedly forgotten chapter from the main story (just so that the new film could be sold again as "Beauty and the Beast"). It doesn't make sense, and logic took a very long hike, but preschoolers and die-hard fans will certainly not miss out on such a travesty.
