The Seven (2019)

English The British movie The Seven could only be awarded the worst possible rating because it is completely unoriginal and is rubbish on a technical level too. There are no practical effects or gimmicks, and it is nothing but a low-budget unfinished movie that could never hope to satisfy the more demanding horror aficionado.

Girls Nite Out (1982)

English The American movie Girls Nite Out is an example of the plethora of slasher movies made in the 80s, and certainly not all of them were very good. Sure, it became a genre that was just about being pure entertainment, and of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, the problem is when a movie fails at even that one simple thing, which is exactly the case with Girls Nite Out.

Party Night (2017)

English The American movie Party Night could probably be seen as a sort of homage to the 80s slasher movie. However, unfortunately, it turns out that today’s amateurs are incapable of making movies as though they had been produced in the 80s. The atmosphere of those 80s movies was simply unique, and without the funds and artistic sensibility, these amateur filmmakers do not even come close.

Grabbers (2012)

English I found the Irish-British movie Grabbers to be an enjoyable horror-comedy, with the comedy being the dominant factor about eighty percent of the time. The horror element really comes into its own towards the end. The movie greatly benefits from using both practical effects and CGI, which are just awesome and work really well to bring Grabbers to life, complementing its dry humor, goofy characters, and quirkiness.

Satan's Slaves (2017)

English The Indonesian-Korean movie Satan's Slave is a fine example of Asian horror movies when they are done well. There is no feeling it is like a poor man's Japanese horror movie. It has its own unique atmosphere and setting, so it is its own thing. It manages to convince you that Asian horror is not on the wane yet, that there are probably more interesting movies yet to come.

The Young Cannibals (2019)

English The British horror movie The Young Cannibals is really a slasher movie regardless of whether it is attempting to be something more. It looks good, although, despite its pretensions, it cannot shake off the fact it is still really a B-movie and nothing more. I cannot lie. That is part of the reason I did not really enjoy it. It is just a slasher movie, even if it wants to think it is something different.

Death Warmed Up (1984)

English Death Warmed Up is a great Australian/New Zealand B-movie that definitely deserves an audience. Even after all these years, it has not aged much. The visuals, in particular, are great. It does not mess about, and it is filthy like a post-apocalyptic movie. I found it really entertaining, and I hope it won't be forgotten and remain in obscurity.

Midnighters (2017)

English The American movie Midnighters gets you hooked from the get-go so you are on the edge of your seat full of expectation. However, from my point of view, it was a bit boring despite the fact some scenes got me going for a while. It is not a badly made movie, and it is just that it is not consistently gripping, so I simply did not find it that entertaining.

The Platform (2019)

English The Spanish movie The Platform is a good study of human nature when individuals find themselves in almost absurd living conditions that take them to the edge and perhaps push them over. Sure, this is a movie similar to the horror of Cube or Saw, although the psychological aspect has been brought to the fore with a form of a social experiment that is unlikely to end well.

Black Spot - Season 2 (2019) (season)

English The second season of the French television series Black Spot provides some new revelations, although unfortunately, they may not be enough to keep you excited for this season. Some scenes are very well shot, and the atmosphere is good. However, the plot seems to have suddenly started to fall apart, and this is a great shame because the first season had a much better screenplay.
