T2 Trainspotting (2017)

English It's not as strong and intense as the original film, but still, you enjoy returning to the characters, and you still let yourself be affected by the energy that Boyle exudes, whether it's through the camera, editing, or even more action-packed sequences, especially towards the end. This is no longer a film with cult status, but it's still a good film and a demonstration that sometimes your past can really mess you up.

Vive la France (2013)

English It's not outright great and it's nowhere near Borat, it doesn't manage to knock you out in that way, but here and there the central duo pulls off some jokes that aren't bad at all. These cultural differences are just fun, but there's quite a bit missing from this being a truly funny film.

Virtual Revolution (2016)

English I expected it to be much more visually interesting than it actually was, but still, you have to take into account that it's a low-budget film with feature length, so it won't be that packed. In terms of visual effects, it just shines here and there. But there's an interesting idea at the end.

Vincere (2009)

English Above all, it's a formally interesting film that may get you by how it's shot more than by what's depicted in it. Benito Mussolini is certainly not an uninteresting subject, but this is not a film that is primarily about him. It's about what power can do, how it can change you, and how it can destroy others and throw them into a role they didn't want or expect.

Vincent-N-Roxxy (2016)

English A modern take on the classic Bonnie and Clyde, where the focus is mainly on casting two interesting young actors and having it revolve around them. Both Emile Hirsch and Zoë Kravitz are definitely good choices, and I like them. And yet both of them are incredibly boring, the film is superficial, and the plot development is quite predictable. I wasn't entertained by the violence here.

Cradle Will Fall (2008)

English Baby Blues isn't a film on a pleasant topic, but a horror about what can happen when something isn't right with a person. And such cases can indeed happen. All too often we hear that the mother couldn't cope, or what was found buried in the garden. This is an explicit demonstration, but a demonstration that will make you think about what might be going on in this world. It's presented well.

Viking (2016)

English A historical action thriller set in the Viking Age. And a Russian production at that. It's not bad, but while watching the movie, you'll feel like everything that could be expected is there and there's nothing much extra. The violence that is depicted here seemed to me to be violence for its own sake, for effect rather than for any other reason, and the characters didn't interest me.

Vigil (1984)

English An isolated place where people live their own lives and learn about all aspects of life, including death, in their own way. We follow a young girl as she learns about life in her neighborhood, but also about life in another world when a stranger arrives. The film has charm thanks to being presented in such a foggy, depressive atmosphere.

Le Gendarme se marie (1968)

English This is simply a classic, and the policeman's struggle with love is genuinely so beautifully naive, touching, silly, and in its own way, beautiful, that one simply has to appreciate it. Moreover, it's humorous, there's always something happening, although at times you might feel like they're sketches piled on top of each other in some way. Some of them could work on their own.

The Carer (2016)

English One could say that the film is somewhat straightforward, and you can expect how the relationship between a bitter person who is dying and his caregiver, who is supposed to take care of him, might unfold. But both actors are just beautifully mesmerizing. Brian Cox is good, which is to be expected, but Coco König shines next to him.
