Saint (2010)

English "The Unholy" has one major problem, and that is the scenes that are not brought to a conclusion. There is a great potential in them in the sense that they could be truly terrifying or truly disgusting, but there is such a stupid cut - either due to technical limitations or a certain awareness of what will be shown - that completely kills the whole scene. Unfortunately, this is not just an aspect of one scene, but it happened to me several times throughout the film. It's a shame because this could have been a really great piece, but in the end, it's just average, nothing outstanding.

Casablanca (1942)

English I like to remember some movies, and "Casablanca" is one of them. It's an eternal story of a love that couldn't be fulfilled. On the other hand, this is a great conversational drama with absolutely perfectly polished characters that are so stylized that they simply have to enchant you. Bogart, Bergman, Rains, Lorre, and Veidt, these are names that create tremendous quality in one film. Simply something that a movie fan should see.

TMB: Panyee FC (2011)

English It is said that sport is what brings many people together regardless of how different they are otherwise. This definitely applies to football, also because it enables us to achieve many things. For example, playing with a ball in a place where land is actually lacking. A great reminder of how much people - and in this case, children - can achieve when they want to.

Road Rage (2012)

English Nice joke, but that's about it. The movie doesn't offer anything significant, just a glimpse of how people can sometimes be nervous and what can happen to them. It's quite original, there is imagination present, but in the end, it all comes down to the punchline.

Coherence (2013)

English Great example of film minimalism, but above all fantastic minimalism. Excellently paranoid film that doesn't lack tension. One of the few movies where I thought that the moving camera really makes sense and adds something extra to it. If you don't get tangled up in it, it's a pleasure for the mind.

The Palm Beach Story (1942)

English Preston Sturges continues to show that screwball comedies are his forte and that he is capable of creating excellent characters. Here, it is beautifully manifested and the supporting roles are hilariously entertaining. Especially Toto is unforgettable. However, the film also captivates with its story, which may seem simple at first glance, but the plot unfolds beautifully, bringing us back to the beginning once again.

Birdboy (2010)

English So I was thinking that this movie wants to convey something serious, but somehow it just doesn't succeed with that depressive Burton-esque poetics. There are visually interesting ideas here, but unfortunately, that's all this little film offers. It's almost a pity because it definitely had potential.

The Arctic Circle (2010)

English Interesting, almost inventive, both in animation and in introducing the story. But then suddenly it's over and you realize that actually nothing happened, that the potential was not utilized in any way and that you were just watching how a fairly interesting puppet looks at something that suddenly appeared there. That's not very impressive.

The Longest Week (2014)

English Romantic drama about how difficult it is to find someone you can get along with, but especially someone you wouldn't want just because of their looks or for sex. A film that typically gets entangled in genre clichés, but wants to be dramatic and show that it can be interesting, that it could be a drama, but unfortunately it is not like that and it's just superficial, once again showcasing Olivia Wilde only as a pretty face.

How Green Was My Valley (1941)

English It's probably a good movie that definitely has something to say, but on the other hand, I can't help but think that it could be filmed even more dramatically, even more brutally than it sounds, and I think it would only benefit the movie. But even in this rendition, it definitely can be appreciated, it just speaks more to lovers of older films, for others it will simply be an old movie.
