Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965)
Three strippers drive fast cars in the California desert, drink, smoke, kick ass and break stereotypes. Quite a provocative flop in its day, and hated by feminists, now a cult film that feminists love. One of Quentin Tarantino's favourite exploitation films, at one time he considered making a remake.
Within the Woods (1978)
A short prototype of the cult-classic Evil Dead, which Sam Raimi made as a preview for future investors. Raimi's friends the Coen brothers would take the same tactic a few years later before filming their debut Blood Simple (Bruce Campbell starred in their preview as well). Within the Woods is an extremely low-budget film shot on 8mm that's only available in a shaky, almost unwatchable VHS transfer, but it will still please fans who like to see the germs of Raimi's kinetic directorial handwriting, including his trademark flying shaky-cam POV shots.
