The Sinner - Part I (2018) (episode)

English The second season’s start didn't reach the heights of the first episode of season one, but it still had that appropriately tense atmosphere. The story grabbed me right away, and I’m excited to see how everything will get tangled up before it all unravels. I also have to commend the creators for their approach to diversity. With Heather Novack, they quickly ticked off three boxes: woman, Black, and lesbian. Bravo, it reminded me of the clever girl in the fairy tale. 4*+

The Sinner - Cora (2017) (season)

English There aren't many series that I’ve enjoyed like this one. The creators managed to keep up a great atmosphere all along, especially in the first and seventh episode, both of which also had amazing suspense, which was the only thing missing in the rest of the episodes. Bill Pullman's performance greatly improved the quality of the series. He was totally convincing as Lieutenant Harry Ambrose, and not for a moment did I doubt he was a real person. 4*+

The Sinner - Part VIII (2017) (episode)

English I decided to bump up the rating because I realized I’d been a bit too harsh on the series at times. This show, which kept me engaged throughout, definitely deserved a more generous rating from me.

The Sinner - Part VII (2017) (episode)

English A perfect episode. It focused almost entirely on the past, but unlike other shows, this wasn’t a stalling tactic — instead, it finally cleared up everything I was confused about. The creators did a great job keeping the mystery alive, which I really appreciate. In other shows, everything becomes obvious much sooner.

The Sinner - Part VI (2017) (episode)

English To be honest, the whole trip from the prison to the club, where suddenly "hospitality" was the only word anyone knew, left me a bit confused. But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. I especially appreciated the deeper look into the life of the troubled Detective Ambrose — Bill Pullman was fantastic as always.

The Sinner - Part V (2017) (episode)

English After the clues and Cora's memories led Harry to the hunting club, the atmosphere definitely thickened. The creators did a great job interweaving scenes from the present and the past. While this episode didn’t hit me as hard as the pilot, it still deserves an extra half-star compared to the previous three. 4*+

The Sinner - Part IV (2017) (episode)

English Once again, it didn’t quite make it to five stars for me, but it definitely earned a solid four. I’m increasingly enjoying Detective Harry Ambrose’s character. Bill Pullman is clearly having a blast with the role in all its facets, and I look forward to every scene he’s in.

The Sinner - Part III (2017) (episode)

English I have to admit, no episode has wowed me quite like the pilot, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t thoroughly enjoy it (four stars speak for themselves). Delving into the past doesn’t bring the level of suspense I was hoping for, but the ending was really well done.

The Sinner - Part II (2017) (episode)

English The creators delved more into the personal lives of some characters, which naturally reduced the suspense. However, the plot remained engaging. I appreciated that all the flashback scenes were essential to the story and not just pointless filler, which is so common in other shows. By the way, what a childhood... Ah, those religious fanatics...
