Godless - Homecoming (2017) (episode)
Everything turned out in the end as I expected, so I would normally deduct stars for predictability, but... How could a Western TV series with this concept turn out? The final episode was great and I didn't mind at all that Griffin lost more than 150% of men, especially when the creators mixed the right atmosphere, action, and suspense.
Godless - Dear Roy... (2017) (episode)
I have been thinking about when the creators will move Frank Griffin to La Belle for five episodes, and finally I have clarity. Those bastards really investigated it all the way to the final episode. I enjoyed the flashbacks the whole time, and it was the same this time, only the final one shocked me a little bit. Did wives really see off local miners for every shift like this? I am from a mining region, but I am sure it doesn't work like this here.
Godless - Shot the Head off a Snake (2017) (episode)
The title of the episode was not successful for the creators, I would name it: "How Frank Met Roy". So far, it was the shortest episode from what I have seen, and the ending credits genuinely surprised me. The longer I watch the series, the more I doubt that Frank is the biggest problem of the town "La Belle".
Godless - Fathers & Sons (2017) (episode)
The story continues at its own pace (i.e. slowly), but considering the episodes I have seen so far, I have gotten used to it, the gradual progress suits me and I like how the creators manage to give the characters the necessary depth. Unexpectedly, I was even exposed to humor, the hunting trip really amused me.
Godless - Wisdom of the Horse (2017) (episode)
Truth be told, the plot has a somewhat sluggish pace again, but when there is some action, it is worth it. I noticed that with each new episode, the atmosphere subtly thickens, and it's not hard to guess why. I assume that the story will accelerate nicely in the final episode, but I have been enjoying the series since the first episode, and no one is probably more surprised by that than me.
Godless - The Ladies of La Belle (2017) (episode)
Godless - An Incident at Creede (2017) (episode)
It is true that I expected much more action from the first episode of the western series, on the other hand, I must admit that the series managed to capture my attention and it is clear to me that there will definitely be some action. So far, I have enjoyed the great atmosphere, I was pleased with Michelle Dockery's casting (as Susan), and the character of the one-armed bandit amused me (even though I don't really enjoy slot machines).
Stranger Things - Season 2 (2017) (season)
Four stars after nine episodes is a decent score, but I was disappointed by Ellie's journey to her mother. The whole Episode 7 felt completely out of place. I wonder how the child actors' growing up will affect my rating of future seasons (I still haven’t gotten over Brandon Stark). I was otherwise very happy with this season, even though it failed to keep up the atmosphere I was used to in the first one. Despite my occasional nitpicking and the constantly overplaying Winona Ryder, I did enjoy Season 2 and look forward to the next one.
Stranger Things - Chapter Nine: The Gate (2017) (episode)
Luxurious ending of the second season. I had a great time during the ninth episode, the atmosphere was pleasantly chilling, the tension seeped through the entire episode, and there was also plenty of high-quality action. When I was watching the ball at the end, I couldn't shake the feeling that, for some reason, it reminded me of Carrie. The 80s decor probably resembled the 70s a lot. Excellent episode.
Stranger Things - Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer (2017) (episode)
Despite the large number of predictable matters, I gave the eighth episode five stars because after the previous episode, it was a balm for the eyes. The creators killed off Bob, you bastards, just when he was becoming more and more popular with me. Sean Astin played that nice goofball with absolute mastery, and he should definitely start consulting Winona Ryder because I only have one nerve left, and it's already pretty worn out.
