Murder by Death (1976)

English Absolutely awesome parody in which there is one great joke after another. I admired this impossibly strong yet balanced cast, from which no one stands out at all, but Peter Falk in the role of Bogart in the role of Marlow, Peter Sellers as Chinese Inspector Sidney Wang and Alec Guinness as the blind butler are particularly amazing.

The Good Plumber (2016)

English There is strength in simplicity - I don't mean that the main protagonist is somewhat simpler, but rather the simple yet powerful story that he lives through. This plumbing fairytale boasts mainly the sovereign Jakub Kohák (even if you think you're tired of seeing him, I bet you'll be very surprised here) and an aptly written script that seems that it creates a certain type of character and puts him in a box, because all those real world boxes really exist and it depends on the viewer if he or she knows about it. I appreciate that the film depicts rural dwellers neither as blunt rednecks nor as idyllically-living carefree aliens, but that it was able to find a pleasantly bitter compromise amongst those looks. It's the best Tomáš Vorel film I've seen.

The Master Blackmailer (1992) (TV movie)

English Although this episode is twice as long as normal, the runtime certainly has its merits - there probably wouldn't be time for Sherlock in disguise seducing a maid (those scenes are so funny and sad at the same time that it's hard to describe), and that would be a great shame. The finale was great, again perhaps almost like a horror, but it is impossible to get rid of the impression that the central duo did not contribute much to it.

Sausage Party (2016)

English Sometimes they try too hard, but Sausage Party is so impossibly dirty, but at the same time an impossibly imaginative, original and entertaining film, which is completely different to everything I've seen. It's not at all as primitive a spectacle as it might seem at first glance, and after a few minutes.

All the Money in the World (2017)

English A retro story shot in a retro way. The tempo is therefore definitely slower than in other contemporary or newer films, and yet the story is interesting and the atmosphere suitably weighty. We can only imagine how Kevin Spacey would have acted (I looked forward to seeing him because I really like masks), and there is nothing left but to acknowledge or cheer over Christopher Plummer's performance. His Getty may not have gotten much space, but still he is so distinctive in every second that he is the most important character, whatever the intention of the creators was. Ridley Scott has still got it, and I consider this film almost full-blown compensation for The Counselor.

Downsizing (2017)

English A cute positive drama and a freshly startling conceptualization of a seemingly spectacular sci-fi subject devoted to a completely common man (as if Matt Damon is slowly taking over from Tom Hanks) and his completely ordinary worries. Alexander Payne wrote and filmed it his way, the trailers hardly divulged everything, so there is no lack of surprises, the humor is very enjoyable, Rolfe Kent's music is addictive and Christoph Waltz is totally great. If something was missing for me, then it was that Laura Dern had only a small role... But then again, she was there for a while at least.

Adam - Episode 3 (2017)

English Well, this was something. It's animated, there's no blood, but you still roll your eyes in disgust.

Adam: The Mirror (2017)

English The second episode of the robotic animated post-apocalypse is pretty cool, but in the end it only serves to somehow connect the mysterious first episode and the literally shocking third. It works, but what comes next trumps everything.

Firebase (2017)

English It's a pity that this short doesn't actually end in any way. I have no problem with the open ending, I like those, but rather I'd like to know more about the origin of the (brilliant) monster. The make-up and all those bloody practical effects are, on the other hand, amazing.
