Biography
Thom Fitzgerald (b. 1968, New Rochelle) studied at Cooper Union College in New York; he moved to Canada in 1988. He gained universal recognition for his feature debut, The Hanging Garden (1997), which was voted the most popular film among audiences at various festivals in Canada (Toronto, Vancouver) and also in Argentina. The film won four Genie awards from the Canadian Film and Television Academy. For this and his other films The Event (2003), The Wild Dogs (2002) and Beefcake (1998), Fitzgerald has already garnered more than 20 international awards.
