Biography (2)
Writer and director Julien Duvivier was born in Lille, France and his early work was in theater until he launched his film career in 1919 assisting silent masters such as Marcel L'Herbier and Louis Feuillade. His extensive filmography includes Pepe le Moko (1937), The Great Waltz (1938), Anna Karenina (1948), Lovers of Paris (1957) and The Burning Court (1960).
