Irving Rapper is one of the greatest directors from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Born in London in 1898, he immigrated to the United States. After graduating from New York University, he moved to Hollywood and was hired by Warner Bros., then made a directorial debut in 1941. Rhapsody in Blue (1945), and The Glass Menagerie (1950) are the most popular masterpieces directed by Rapper.
