Biography

He studied Psychology and Painting at the University of Vienna, and then Cinema at the Academy of Art in Dusseldorf and at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne. He worked as an assistant to Paul Morrissey and Nan Hoover. His films include the short films In Time (1994), 9h11 (1999), Disk – Dusk (1999), Schoen 2000 (2000) and Grau (2001), the documentary Remake of the Remake (1999) and the feature film What You Don't See (2009). His film Styx won three awards at the Berlinale: the Ecumenical Jury Award, the Europa Cinemas Label and the Heiner Carow.
