Konstantin Khabenskiy

Konstantin Khabenskiy was designated Honorable Actor of Russia in 2006, and has received numerous awards and decorations for his work on stage and in film.
The Leningrad native is known to audiences worldwide for his performances in Timur Bekmambetov's Russian fantasy thrillers Night Watch and Day Watch, as well as the director's American action movie Wanted.
After studying electronics, he played guitar and also worked as a stage technician. He first studied acting at the St. Petersburg Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, and was then in the troupe at the Raikin Theater of Satire in Moscow.
From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Khabenskiy performed with the St. Petersburg Theater of Lensovet, starring in productions of Vozhidanii Godo and Caligula. At the Moscow Arts Theater, he played the lead role in White Guard, the classic play by Mikhail Bulgakov. He also portrayed Claudius in a Russian adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, staged by Yuri Butusov.
Mr. Khabenskiy made his film debut in Vladimir Zaykin's Na kogo Bog poschlet before finding fame with his appearances on the television series Uboynaya sila. His other movies have included Marc Forster's World War Z and, also for Focus Features, Tomas Alfredson's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
