Biography

Luc Jacquet (1967) is a French photographer, screenwriter and director. He studied ethology at the University of Lyon. He lived a long time in Antarctica, where he studied a local penguin colony and repeatedly returned here. His passion for penguins was transformed into his own documentary March of the Penguins (La Marche de l'empereur, 2005), which won a number of awards, including an Oscar. His further documentaries are also connected with nature: Once Upon a Forest (Il était une forêt, 2013) and Ice and the Sky (La Glace et le ciel, 2015).
