Elisabeth Scharang

Elisabeth Scharang is an Austrian director, screenwriter and radio and television presenter. She studied political science, sociology and philosophy while simultaneously beginning her career at ORF as a journalist and radio presenter. She has been creating for the television programme ORF Reportagen and directing documentaries since 1991. Scharang has been working as a freelance director since 1997. Her 2015 feature film Jack was nominated five times for the Austrian Film Award and won the Thomas Pluch Screenplay Award.
