Biography
Alex Schaad was born in 1990 in Kazakhstan and moved with his family to Germany in 1993. He studied set directing at HHF Munich from 2013 until 2019. He has already received two Max Ophüls Prizes and a Grimme Prize for his work as an author and director, as well as a Student Oscar. He won the latter for his short film Invention of Trust (2016). His first feature-length fiction film Skin Deep world premiered at Venice.
