Louis Malle, born in 1932 in France, died in 1995 in USA, was a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. His film Le Monde du Silence won the Palme d'Or and an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1956.
Louis Malle won several prizes for his film, among them several Golden Lions at the Venice Film Festival.
