Juan Gordon

Biography

Juan is one of the founders of Morena Films (1999). After getting his Law degree from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and study Economics from UNED, Juan left for the United States to do the prestigious Master offered by the Peter Stark Producing Programme at the University of Southern California. In 1996 he returned to Spain to join producer and distributor Esicma as General Manager where he produced his first feature length film Twice Upon a Yesterday, directed by María Ripoll. In his time at Morena, Juan has been in charge of the development and production of a large number of films such as: A Mother’s Love (Paco Caballero, 2022); Out In The Open (Benito Zambrano, 2019); Yuli (Iciar Bollain, 2019); Submergence (Wim Wenders, 2018); Holy Goali (Curro Velázquez, 2017); To Steal a Thief (Daniel Calparsoro, 2016); The Olive Tree (Iciar Bollain, 2016); Invader (Daniel Calparsoro, 2012); White Elephant (Pablo Trapero, 2012); Cell 211 (Daniel Monzón, 2010), Goya Award winner for best film; Even The Rain (Iciar Bollain, 2009), selected to represent Spain in the Academy Awards; or One Of The Hollywood Ten (Karl Francis, 2000).
