Biography (1)
1927-1996. An art critic, he worked as an assistant director and screenwriter before debuting as a filmmaker with The Thieves (1959). An artisan of fantasy, he earned himself the name 'godfather of gore' with: The Beyond (1981), The House by the Cemetery (1981), and New York Ripper (1982).
