Biography
During her studies Iveta Grófová, a film graduate from Bratislava's Academy of Performing Arts, shot the animated short There Were 11 of Us and several short documentaries such as Gastarbeiters and Discoboy, which were later included in the anthology film Slovakia 2.0.
Though she originally focused on animation and documentaries, she first made her mark on European cinematography with a feature film. Her feature debut, Made in Ash, was screened at several European festivals and she was Slovakia's nominee for an Oscar in 2012. Her second picture The Little Harbour is based on Monika Kompaníková's novel The Fifth Boat.
