Biography (1)

Otar Iosseliani is from Georgia. He studied film directing at the Moscow Cinema Institute(VGIK). His first feature film April (1961) was banned, a victim of Soviet censorship. He achieved his international breakthrough with Favorites of the Moon (1984), And Then There Was Light (1989), and Brigands (1996). His films include Farewell, Home Sweet Home (1999), Monday Morning (2002), Gardens in Autumn (2006) and Chantrapas (2010)
