Biography

Dhavernas, a Montréal native, began her career at age 11. Most recently, Dhavernas starred in "Mars et Avril," a Canadian science-fiction film. Directed by Martin Villeneuve, the film was based on the novels by the same name and screened at numerous film festivals before releasing in Québec in October 2012.

In 2011, Dhavernas starred in the ABC television series "Off the Map." The medical drama, by Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes ("Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice"), was set in a remote South American village where seven doctors each searched for reasons that brought each of them to medicine. Dhavernas starred alongside Zach Gilford, Mamie Gummer, Martin Henderson, Rachelle Lefevre and Valerie Cruz in the series.

In 2011, Dhavernas starred alongside Adrien Brody in the independent feature "Wrecked." The film was released by IFC in New York and Los Angeles on April 1, 2011.

In 2010, Dhavernas appeared in the supernatural thriller "Devil," a feature film produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Universal Pictures released the film on September 17, 2010. Additionally, she appeared in Mandate Pictures' romantic comedy film "The Switch" with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, which was released on August 20, 2010.

Also in 2010, Dhavernas starred as Vera Keller in "The Pacific." This epic ten-part miniseries event debuted on HBO in March 2010 and received an astounding eight Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Miniseries as well as a Golden Globe nomination for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

In 2008, Dhavernas starred in the widely acclaimed Canadian feature "Passchendaele," which won the 2009 Genie Award (Canada's Film Award) for Best Motion Picture. Dhavernas also appeared in the film "Breach" in 2007 with Chris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe. The film, directed by Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass"), was released by Universal Pictures. In 2006, Dhavernas starred as Kit Holliday in the Focus Feature film "Hollywoodland" opposite Adrien Brody.

Her first feature film, "Comme un Voleur," was followed by "L'île De Sable." Additional film credits include "Lost and Delirious," "Out Cold," "The Baroness and the Pig" in which she starred opposite Patricia Clarkson, "Edge of Madness," "Surviving My Mother," "These Girls," "Niagara Motel" and "La Belle Bête." Additionally, Caroline co-starred in English director Peter Greenaway's "The Tulse Luper Suitcases" which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.

Dhavernas made her American television debut in 2004 in the critically acclaimed Fox series "Wonderfalls." The series was created by Bryan Fuller and bought by more than 30 countries around the globe. In the family dramedy, Dhavernas played the lead character, Jaye, who lived in a trailer, worked at a Niagara Falls gift shop and had a special gift that allowed her to hear non-living objects encouraging her to help different individuals in the community. Dhavernas also did her own French voice-over translations for the show. Prior to that, she also starred in Disney's "Out Cold" and the hit series "Law & Order."

Dhavernas is a two-time nominee of the Gémeaux Awards (Québec's television awards), one for Best Interpretation in a Youth Series for "Zap" and the second for Best Supporting Role in "Tag." She was also nominated for a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actress in "Niagara Motel" in 2007.
