Xiaoshuai Wang

Wang Xiaoshuai achieved international acclaim in 2001, when Shiqi sui de dan che (Beijing Bicycle, 2001) won the Jury Grand Prix at Berlin. His next work, Er di (Drifters, 2003), was presented in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Festival, the competition which would honour him with the Jury Prize for Qing Hong (Shanghai Dreams, 2005). In 2008, Zuo You (In Love We Trust) won the Silver Shell for Best Screenplay at the Berlinale. He competed at Cannes with Ri Zhao Chong Qing (Chongqing Blues, 2010), at San Sebastian with Wo 11 (11 Flowers) and at Venice with Chuang Ru Zhe (Red Amnesia, 2014). Di Jiu Tian Chang (So Long, My Son) won Silver Bears for Best Actor and Best Actress at Berlin.
