Biography
Karim Aïnouz directed Madame Satã (2002), Suely in the Sky (2006), The Silver Cliff (2011) and co-directed, with Marcelo Gomes, Viajo Porque Preciso, Volto Porque Te Amo (2009). He has directed the HBO TV series Alice (2008).
His short films and installations have been shown at numerous venues including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the São Paulo Biennial, Temporäre Kunsthalle Berlin and the Sharjah Biennial.
In 2012 he was invited as jury at the Cannes Film Festival for the Cinéfondation and Short Film Competition and took part on the project Cathedrals of Culture, a documentary TV series in 3D which features Aïnouz as one of the directors.
