Biography
Karim Aïnouz, born in 1966, is a Brazilian-Algerian director and a visual artist. His first feature film direction, Madame Satã, was premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. Aïnouz's short films and video installations have been shown at numerous art museums all around the world. Praia do Futuro (2014) was premiered at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
