Biography
John Getz has enjoyed a long and esteemed career carved out over 40 years of acting for feature films, television and the theater. He was seen as Mark Zuckerberg's attorney in The Social Network, directed by David Fincher. Getz also appeared in the indie features Desperate Acts of Magic and The Elevator.
Early in Getz's career, a leading role in the Coen brothers' classic thriller Blood Simple led to memorable turns in The Fly and The Fly II, Born on the Fourth of July, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead and David Fincher's Zodiac.
On the small screen, Getz appeared on the hit ABC series "Scandal" as well as "Touch" and "Eagleheart." He was a series regular on "Maggie" and "MacGruder and Loud." Guest-star credits include "Grey's Anatomy," "Mad Men," "NCIS," "Criminal Minds" and "Private Practice."
A stage-trained actor, Getz studied at the University of Iowa and the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Performing in regional and New York theater, Getz appeared with the New York Shakespeare Festival and starred on Broadway in "M. Butterfly" and "They're Playing Our Song." More recently, he performed in L.A. Theatre Works' production of "The Graduate," touring various cities.
