Jessie McCormack

Biography

Jessie McCormack began her career in the theater, both as an actress and as a playwright. Her first play, Spine, which she performed in, was produced in New York City and Los Angeles. Excerpts from Spine were published in The Best Women's Monologues from Applause Books. Jessie also acted in her most play, Journey to Dollywood, for which Dolly Parton recorded a voice-over.

Jessie wrote The Screaming Petunias for director Danny Leiner's (Dude Where's My Car, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle) Sly Dog Films, and she was a staff writer on ABC's single camera/half-hour comedy, Jake In Progress. Following that, she wrote, directed and acted in The Antagonist, an award winning 35 mm short film. Her script for Gus resulted in her feature directorial debut. Premiered at SXSW film festival. Jessie is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Brown University.
