Mike Birbiglia

Mike Birbiglia is a comedian, writer, actor and filmmaker known for his highly personal approach to comedy. In 2012, Birbiglia burst onto the scene with his Sundance Film Festival Award-winning directorial debut Sleepwalk With Me. Roger Ebert said of the film, "I like this movie. More important, I like Mike Birbiglia in it. He could become a filmmaker like Woody Allen, whose material is often simply himself." Birbiglia was nominated for a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Actor which led to a string of film and TV roles, including Patrick in The Fault in Our Stars. He joined the cast of the third season of Orange is the New Black. Birbiglia also appeared in Joe Swanberg's Digging for Fire.

Birbiglia started as a standup comedian and has ascended to being an international touring concert act. His first solo show, Sleepwalk With Me, was presented off-Broadway by Nathan Lane. His second solo show, My Girlfriend's Boyfriend, won the Lucille Lortel Award. The concert film of My Girlfriend's Boyfriend debuted on Netflix and was named the number one standup special of 2013 by Vulture, Paste and Laughspin.com. Flavorwire listed it as one of the top 20 funniest stand-up specials of all time.
