Biography

Martin holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Seville and is a founding member (along with Olmo Figueredo) of La Claqueta, an Andalusian production company with almost 20 years of experience whose productions have won two Goya Awards, one Platinum Award, three Forqué Awards and two Feroz Awards, among others. He has directed three feature-length documentaries: El viaje más largo (2020), La vida en llamas (2015) and 30 años de oscuridad (2012, nominated for a Goya for Best Documentary Film). Besides his work as a director, he has published in 2018 his first graphic novel as a screenwriter, "Una historia de perros viejos" (illustrated by Juanma Espinosa and published by Dolmen Editorial), and has collaborated in the development of Nacido en Siria (2016), La trinchera infinita (2019) and El inconveniente (2020). Since 2016 he has been the Director of the Ibero-American Film Festival of Huelva.
