Biography

Kamila Andini studied sociology and media arts at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Her directing debut The Mirror Never Lies, screened in the 2012 Berlinale Generation. Her second feature film The Seen and Unseen won the Grand Prix of the Generation Kplus International Jury in 2018 while her third, the teen drama Yuni, won the Platform Prize at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival. She has also directed a number of short films like Following Diana (2015), Memoria (2016), Sekar (2019) and Back Home (2019). Before, Now & Then, her fourth feature film, won the award for Best Supporting Performance for Laura Basuki in Berlin and won the Jury Prize at the Brussels Festival.
