Biography (1)
Cleveland, Ohio, native Steven Caple Jr. began his career as a graduate student at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. His short film, A Different Tree, won the Director's Guild of America Student Film Award, the HBO Short Film Competition at the American Black Film Festival, and the Audience Choice Award at NBC Shortcuts. Since then, HBO selected Caple to direct a one-act stage comedy for their inaugural Character and Scene Studio.
