In National Lampoon's European Vacation, the family win a holiday to Europe. Contrary to their expectations, however, it is not a luxurious, all-expenses-paid kind of trip, but rather a cut-price, economy deal which takes them to some of the Old World's seedier locations. I can't help it, but that family is so stupid and dysfunctional that I don't understand how they can function at all. I know it's supposed to be funny, or at least it should be funny, but they are so annoying to me that I can't even look at them anymore. Occasionally, a good joke really saves it, but the characters are killing it for me.
