Plots(1)

65 is a story about a “futuristic” space cruiser that crash lands on a distant planet and only the captain and a young girl survive. As the two space travelers get their bearings of the foreign terrain, it’s revealed that the planet is actually Earth 65 million years ago - and full of prehistoric dinosaurs that threaten their survival. Things are further complicated when they discover a large asteroid, The asteroid, is on a direct collision path with Earth and the pair must desperately reach their escape vessel as the world’s extinction rapidly approaches. English I don't really fault the makers of 65 for wanting to make anything other than a fun flick that isn't completely stupid. And they succeeded. The problem is that Adam Driver is a bit wasted in films like this. But he did go for it and it's a good thing it didn't end up being a disaster despite all the problems. And Ariana Greenblatt is a sweetheart! ()

English Unfortunately, the meaty premise and the very committed Adam Driver are not enough to save the incredibly bland direction and unimaginative script, which only meets the bare dramaturgical minimum to call it a survival thriller. It's a relatively short film and some scenes from the trailer are even missing, but it still feels padded and a few comedic scenes accompanied by Looney Tunes music are really eyebrow-raising. This plot would have benefited from a more B-movie, gritty, R-rated execution, with fewer dinosaurs and more night scenes to hide the imperfect effects, but unfortunately the creative ambition to show as much as possible was combined with the ability to tell as little and as interestingly as possible, and I'm not sure what and whom it's supposed to impress in the end. English As a lover of dinosaurs and a die-hard fan of Jurassic Park, I'm always happy with the release of a film with these overgrown lizards that doesn't fall under the aforementioned "universe" – and there are very few such films. The final product, although it brings down the initial expectations a bit, still stays within the average and thanks to the reasonable running time it hardly gets boring. The purpose of the space mission is admittedly stripped down, and the family storyline felt futile, but thankfully the film primarily concentrates on the struggle to survive on Earth 65 million years ago. (Spoiler alert!) The scenes with the dinosaurs were satisfactory, especially the cave sequence, which makes imaginative use of a motion sensor, and the final confrontation between Mills and a sort of hybrid of a T-Rex and a dog. Although it is predictable, you already know from the title and at the latest with the first shot of the sky what moment the Earth is in, I had fun watching it in the cinema and the ninety minutes were perfectly adequate. English It’s a shame about the level of stupidity in many of the scenes, because the natural settings are atmospheric and the monsters are impressive. The idea of setting the story on Earth before our civilization, in the age of dinosaurs, is also fine. Sci-fi B-movies require at least a bit of common sense, which is all the more true with smaller budgets. Here, with solid production under the baton of Sam Raimi and an A-list actor in the lead role, the absence of intelligence is an even greater drawback. ()

English A pleasant surprise indeed! A very interesting story that appears to be sci-fi, but takes us back to the time of dinosaurs, approximately 65 million years ago. The effects CGI are well done, the plot is engaging, and it's enjoyable to watch. Adam is cool, and the girl is also pretty good (which is a compliment coming from me, as I often have issues with child actors). What I realized only after finishing the whole movie is that we're actually only watching two characters/actors, and it's absolutely sufficient. There's no need for hundreds of more. This unique aspect adds to the intimacy and perfectly complements the movie's concept. So, for me, it's a good sci-fi movie that I would happily watch again. ()
