English Ivan Reitman's rather troubled attempt to build on the success and playful nature of Ghostbusters... There are only a few really humorous spots in the film, and overall it lacks the style and gradation of ghost films. David Duchovny gives the impression of an annoyed willing person who desperately doesn't want to make fun of himself, so Julianne Moore (I just love that girl :o)) and the sympathetically screaming clown Orlando Jones save the acting aspects. However, the certain perspective that Reitman does well does come at times, and Evolution is truly fun in those moments. When I sum up the film as a whole, I certainly don't feel any bitterness, just the kind of stupid aftertaste that you get on your tongue when you witness a missed chance. Evolution could have been an excellent action sci-fi comedy, but in the end, it's just a decent movie. ()

English A really well-made sci-fi comedy with a surprisingly simple, but good theme. The casting is more than fine and the main duo, David Duchovny and Orlando Jones, are perfectly matched. And it’s also the most expensive ever commercial for Head & Shoulders. Overall pleasant entertainment + perfect music from John Powell, so 4 stars. And just one other thing. If you’re Czech, I recommend watching the version with subtitles, or the dubbed version on video, because what Czech TV Nova did with all those excellent lines (and this doesn’t apply just to this movie) is just unbelievable. STOP DUBBING MOVIES!!! ()

English Evolution is an easygoing "classic" with a likeable cast, plenty of small and giant monsters, and plenty of scenes that are clichéd but still entertaining. The clumsy Allison (Julianne Moore) and the slightly awkward Wayne (Sean William Scott) are the characters that stick in my mind the most. In short, an unpretentious movie that mustn't be taken too seriously (it doesn't take itself that way either). P S: Great commercial for Head & Shoulders! ()
