Like so many of his young countrymen, Fei has left the Chinese countryside for the big city in order to make money. His choice of vocation, however, is controversial, for as a male prostitute he is shamed by his family and constantly hounded by the police. Portraying the lived reality of gay hustlers in modern-day China without glamour or prejudice, Moneyboys is both a melancholy and moving drama and a valuable insight into the lives of a demographic group that is rarely represented on the silver screen. English The editing is quite incomprehensible in places, it looks a bit confusing, which does not help the flow of the otherwise very interesting story, which has quite a strong narrative value. What could be considered a worse approach to one's own life? Selling your body to rich men or losing your health in well-paid drudgery in a polluted environment? This is one of the many questions this movie made me think about. (75%) ()
