I can't help but compare the series to the books it was based on. Michael Connelly's writing is so captivating that I can't tear myself away from it, a feat the screenwriter hasn't quite replicated. It's not ideal when the viewer sees through a transparent trick right away, yet the creators seem convinced it's intricate enough to need an explanation. / Lesson learned: Curiosity might land you in jail sooner than you think.
