College professor Philip Brainard (Robin Williams) is so absent-minded that he manages to miss his own wedding to colleague Sara Reynolds (Marcia Gay Harden). The reason Philip forgets is his new invention - Flubber, a high-energy green substance which can bounce great distances, even enabling Philip to fly his car like an aeroplane. However, Philip and Flubber have their work cut out when they discover that Sara has been sweet-talked by Philip's rival in love, Wilson. Sometimes really stupid, sometimes really boring, and the use of digital effects is really bad, but that could be expected for its time. In the end, it's still possible to see worse tricks even today. Robin Williams is classically nice in a way, the world is simply divided into good and evil, which you can recognize at first glance, and a brilliant invention is used for pretty dumb purposes. Sometimes there really isn't anything to laugh about.
