In The Little Mermaid II - Return to the Sea, Ariel (voice of Jodi Benson) and Eric (voice of Rob Paulsen) have had a baby daughter, Melody (voice of Tara Strong), but the threat of reprisal from Ursula's sister Morgana (voice of Pat Carroll) means that they must keep the girl in the dark about her mermaid heritage. However, to be a mermaid is what Melody wants most and her dreams of the sea soon find her playing into the evil Morgana's hands. To set things right, Ariel must team up with her old chums Sebastian (voice of Samuel E. Wright), Flounder (Cam Clarke) and Scuttle (voice of Buddy Hackett) and embark upon a daring rescue mission. I'm enjoying these Disney sequels. I couldn't believe it, but all three Cinderella films are excellent. So I have no prejudices and I am satisfied. The motherly Ariel is great, the generational clash is ideal, and Morgana and her spawns dominate. I want more, and I hope that somehow the Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams series gets reborn. I fundamentally insist on wanting a Snow White trilogy as well.
